Job Description

Duties


Reporting to the General Manager & CISO, the Director ICT is a senior member of the Information Technology and Cyber Security Branch leading the corporate ICT team. This role will be a business leader and will act as a strategic advisor to the CISO, in recommending and implementing the most appropriate technology and information solutions to support and optimise current operations and enable future growth.

• Reviewing the current ICT environment and developing/implementing an IT vision and ‘roadmap’ that is fit for purpose and aligned with business goals and initiatives;
• Leading, developing and mentoring a dedicated IT team of approx. 10;
• Enhancing ICT service delivery and overall experience for key stakeholder groups.
• Overseeing the development and maintenance of the infrastructure and technical environment (networks, hardware, applications and frontline systems) to ensure optimal performance in terms of accessibility, security, stability, reliability, responsiveness and support
• External vendor management;
• Overseeing the management and delivery of successful technology change projects and expected benefits;
• Actively monitoring emerging technologies and identifying innovation opportunities; and
• Actively identifying and managing technology risks and regulatory compliance, ensuring robust governance frameworks, reporting systems and protections are in place.

Within the context of the role described above, the ideal applicant will be someone who has the following key experience/capabilities:
• You will have a minimum of five years’ experience in a similar ICT Director role, ideally within a relevant industry with multiple service streams and geographically dispersed sites and frontline staff;
• You will be a hands-on, collaborative, authentic and pragmatic technology and business leader with experience managing similar medium sized teams;
• You will enjoy sitting at the strategic decision-making table and providing technology solutions to help solve business problems and drive growth;
• You will have proven technical expertise across the full spectrum of IT and previous experience reviewing IT environments and building fit for purpose ‘roadmaps’ that align with business strategy;
• You will have strong vendor management and negotiation skills with proven experience managing projects on time and on budget;
• You will be a natural influencer and relationship builder at executive level who is action orientated and collaborative with a strong customer service orientation; and
• Above all else, you will be passionate about helping others and will have possess a friendly, vibrant and positive attitude with a high level of emotional intelligence and professional maturity.
