OVERALL ROLE

Reporting to the Manager IT, the officer is responsible to provide IT Support Services to the overall computer networks of TransPeshawar and solving any problems that may occur with it. This responsibility will include the performance, integrity and security of TransPeshawar’s IT systems and networks.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The major areas of responsibility for the IT Support Officer include:
  • Installing and configuring computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printers and scanners;
  • Monitoring and maintaining computer systems and networks;
  • Responding in a timely manner to service issues and requests;
  • Providing technical support across the company;
  • Providing support and guidance to Manager IT and other senior managers on IT systems and network matters;
  • Establishing the IT needs of TransPeshawar users and monitoring user access and security;
  • Monitoring IT performance and managing parameters that impact on performance;
  • Maintaining network standards, procedures, and definitions for the data dictionary;
  • Controlling access permissions and privileges;
  • Ensuring that storage and archiving procedures are functioning correctly;

  • KEY TASKS:
The specific tasks shall include but not be limited to:
  • Maintaining existing software and hardware and upgrading any that have become obsolete
  • Monitoring computer networks and systems to identify how performance can be improved
  • Installing and configuring computer networks and systems
  • Identifying and solving any problems that arise with computer networks and systems
  • Consulting with Manager IT and senior management to specify system requirements and design solutions
  • Budgeting for equipment and assembly costs
  • Working with IT support personnel
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, expanding professional networks, and participating in professional societies.
  • Other tasks as may be requested by the Manager IT from time to time.

                                                     POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  1. ATTAINMENTS
Qualification
Required
Bachelor’s degree in IT or Computer Science from a recognized university.
Preferable
Master’s degree in IT or Computer Science from a recognized university.
Specialized Training
Professional training courses related to the IT Support, Networking, Data Management, Software/Hardware repair and maintenance or any other skills considered relevant for the position.
Active Affiliations
Membership of relevant recognised Industry or Professional Organisations,
EXPERIENCE
Minimum of 5 years of experience in the field. Minimum 2 years’ experience in the similar role will be considered an advantage.

  1. EXPERIENCE AND CORE COMPETENCIES
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge in the IT and communications fields;
  • Sound knowledge of network databases including their functionality, systems, concepts, and procedures;
  • Demonstrated experience and technical knowledge in the field of IT Support;
  • Ability to perform independently under pressure of frequent/tight deadlines and often in demanding and unpredictable circumstances.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with both senior management and other IT personnel;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  1. CIRCUMSTANCES
  • Age below 35 years.
  • Fluency in English and Urdu, Pashto would be an added advantage.
  • Good health.
