The German Cancer Research Center is the largest biomedical research institution in Germany. With approximately 3,000 employees, we operate an extensive scientific program in the field of cancer research.
The position is available at the German Cancer Research Centre (DKFZ) in the laboratory of Prof. HJ Delecluse that is co-funded by Inserm France. Our laboratory studies the oncogenic properties of the Epstein-Barr virus and is developing vaccines against herpesviruses.
Job description:
The successful applicant will join a research group working on the genetics of the Epstein-Barr virus and the development of preventative vaccines based on attenuated mutants of the Epstein-Barr viruses and of other herpesviruses. Other strategies include the use of antigen-coupled antibodies for vaccination purposes. 
Requirements:
We are seeking highly motivated scientists with a strong interest in virology and oncology and a desire to pursue a career in research. Applicants with a master's degree in molecular biology, biotechnology, biochemistry or medicine equivalent to a first class honours, including a substantial (1 semester fulltime or more) experimental research experience are invited to apply. Prior expertise in molecular virology is an asset. Further requirements include a recent successful TOEFL test (>91 total) or equivalents for non-native English speakers.
