We are on an exciting journey to firmly establish design as a strategic initiative within the Lufthansa Group and to create future products, services and experiences that are entirely human-centric, design-driven and deliver meaningful impact for our guests. To further grow our team of strategists, designers, innovation experts and curious minds, we are looking for a "Senior Passenger Experience Designer (m/f)" in Vienna within the division of “Passenger Experience Design”.
As the Lufthansa Group Experience Design Team, that is established at all 3 hubs: Frankfurt, Vienna and Zurich, we are connected by our shared passion for designing meaningful solutions that transform the future passenger experience. We accomplish this goal by taking on complex challenges, big tasks, and try new things that have never been done before. All this is to achieve our New Premium positioning. As a "Senior Passenger Experience Designer (m/f) you are part of the team that fosters the development of innovative products/services/experiences and you are actively involved in improving the customer added value along their journey.

What are your responsibilities?
  • Develop concepts and prototypes for products and services, focusing on either “pre- and post-flight”, “on plane” or "ancillary service" touchpoints
  • Ensure to complement and enrich the customer journey and make sure to fulfill New Premium standards in every aspect
  • Set up business cases and establish target pictures
  • Prepare and perform high management board presentations and “sell” your topics
  • Prepare, facilitate and run workshops, design sprints and various other engagements
  • Make sure to consider benchmarks, customer insights, trend analysis, best practices and market research results in the development phase and run focus groups with customers
  • Monitor customer satisfaction and initiate counter measures if necessary
  • Act as a customer-centric role model and as an agile ambassador in design and usability
  • Functionally steer, motivate and support your project team
  • Work in multi-disciplinary teams across all hubs through an entire project or program engagement
  • Help to formulate and translate the problem statement
  • Support a successful implementation of ideas and full solutions
These challenges can include new or improved products, services, digital platforms and passenger experiences for our customers from the very first thought about travelling, inspiration and booking, on their way to the airport, at the airport, on board and after the flight, across any of our Lufthansa Group premium brands.

Your profile

What are we looking for?
We love unique characters and care more about personalities than about straight-forward CV’s. The best talent for this role is someone who is curious, explorative and able to transform innovative ideas to real products and services that can be experienced by our customers.
  • Successfully accomplished Master’s Degree (or equivalent) in management, innovation management, product- or service design or comparable studies
  • At least 5 years of professional work experience in product or customer-near functions
  • Experience in leading interdisciplinary teams
  • Profound knowledge in design thinking, prototyping and project management is an advantage
  • Experience in agile working methods and agency experience is an advantage
  • An outgoing, results-oriented personality with profound analytical and negotiation skills
  • Communicative, motivated and motivating person with the ability to think outside the box
  • Fluent in German, business-level English required, every additional language is an advantage
  • Flexible in regards to duty trips (most within Germany, Austria and Switzerland)
  • Unlimited work permission for Austria

The minimum salary for this position according to the collective agreement is € 38.291,- gross/per year full-time. Overpayment of the base salary depends on your personal qualification and professional experience.
