Working with a talented team of creative Chefs, The Peninsula Chicago is seeking a forward thinking and creative Cook to work in culinary operations.
  • Work for a luxury Five-Star Five-Diamond property in the heart of Michigan Avenue, Chicago.

Key accountabilities​
  • Follow recipes for product items accurately.
  • Responsible for the preparation of mise en place for the station.
  • Produce all food required for the assigned Kitchen
  • Ensure a high standard of food quality safety at all times
  • Prevent wastage of surplus stock without undue sacrifice on food quality.
  • Control effective storage and stock levels, while always being cost conscious.

General requirements 
  1. Must be State of Illinois & City of Chicago Food Handler Certified (ANSI Accredit)
  2. Must have basic HACCP knowledge 
  3. Minimum of 1 year culinary experience or related educational training
  4. Knowledge in scratch cooking (basic knowledge of stocks and sauces)
  5. Extensive culinary knowledge in both classical and current culinary trends
  6. Ability to speak English fluently, additional languages would be highly advantageous
